Share your story with us; how did u get into this lifestyle?
Throughout high school I used to be an introverted fat kid with a low self-confidence. One day around the age of 19 a girl said something about my weight and that triggered everything! I started jogging (yes I actually was a pavement pounder for a year) and then a few years after losing the weight, I became obsessed with WWF wrestling. I kid you not my dream was to become a WWF wrestler lol. I became friends with a guy that resembled the typical gym freak and he had the biggest bicep I had ever seen. I remember saying to him, “how the hell do I look like you?”. I was 22 when my obsession with the gym and living a healthy lifestyle began.
What keeps you motivated?
Seeing results from all my hard work and receiving kind words from people around me gives me daily motivation. I am always trying to constantly improve my physique because I’m never fully satisfied.
What are your plans for the future?
I want to motivate as many people as possible. I’m a personal trainer and a coach helping clients achieve their fitness goals. I help people with different goals whether it be their dream body or living a healthier lifestyle. I’m also trying to help as many people around the globe through my online coaching. Winning a bodybuilding competition is another goal of mine but i’m not sure which federation yet.
What does your training split look like?
- My training split is pretty simple
- Sun – Legs
- Mon – Shoulders
- Tues – Back
- Weds – Legs
- Thurs – Arms
- Fri – Chest
- Sat – Active recovery
What does your diet look like?
I’m currently on my offseason so I don’t really count calories. As the years of training have progressed I have learnt to understand my body. I train twice a day on most days so I need to eat enough to fuel me throughout the day. I add a reefed day once a week which usually ends up on a Sunday when its leg day!
What are your 3 favorite exercises ?
- SQUATS – Probably one of the best compound exercise when it comes to developing those wheels.
- Pull ups – If you want the best back development, pull ups are your best bet! I do them EVERY time I train back without fail!
- Deadlifts – I usually do these for about an hour. I go from Romanian to Sumo Deadlifts. It is another compound exercise that literally works every muscle in the body. It’s the best bang for your buck if you do Deadlifts properly.
What supplements do you take?
- Whey Protein
- Pre workout
How do you maintain a balance between training, working and a social life?
I am a stickler for routines. I plan for my week way in advance. Always plan ahead…ALWAYS!
Who Inspires you?
My Mother – because I wouldn’t be here in this world without her.
What music do you listen to at the gym ?
I am a big music lover so I have a mix of R&B, Hip Hop (old school), Dance and even Trance. I always have a gym playlist that gets updated every other week.
“The Greatest Glory in living lies not in never falling, but RISING every time we fall”
What advice do you have for young aspiring athletes ?
Consistency, consistency and a lot of patience! I cant say this enough, there are too many people that expect results fast and then give up because it doesn’t work out the way they want. It’s taken me years and a lot of ups and downs to get the physique that I have. I managed to do this because I stayed consistent and never gave up.
